If you’re heading to Canggu soon, you’re probably wondering where to go for your morning coffee. The good news is that there are SO many coffee shops to choose from in Canggu. The bad news is that some are definitely better than others!

However, it should be said that even an average cup of coffee in Canggu is pretty dang incredible! This is because Bali is home to some of the best coffee farms in the world.

Local coffee shops have access to some of the freshest and most delicious coffee beans, so you know the coffee is going to be good pretty much everywhere!

With all of that being said, this post goes over some of my favorite coffee shops in Canggu that really stand out from the competition.

Best Coffee Shops In Canggu

1. BGS Coffee Shop & Surf Shop

BGS is one of the most popular coffee shops in Canggu. The coffee is outstanding, the service is super friendly, and the decor is clean and modern. BGS is where the *cool kids* go for their morning cup of joe.

This coffee shop gets super busy and seating is limited, so come early if you want a place to sit.

It’s located in a central part of Canggu, so the location is great for cafe hopping, shopping at the boutiques, or grabbing coffee before heading to the beach.

BGS is famous for their house-made almond milk, so definitely grab an almond milk latte if you’re a fan of non-dairy milks.

Unlike other cafes in Canggu, they don’t have an extensive food menu. Coffee is the main attraction but you can also get smoothies, baked goods, and smoothie bowls at BGS.

2. Hungry Bird Coffee

Hungry Bird is another popular spot for specialty coffee in Canggu. They are best known for their incredible latte art.

This Canggu coffee shop has plant milks, a good food selection, and plenty of working space for digital nomads. It’s located right on a main road in the Berawa area of Canggu.

3. Crate Cafe

Crate Cafe is another one of the most popular coffee shops in Canggu. This place gets absolutely packed with expats, digital nomads, and backpackers, so come early if you want to find a seat.

They are best known for their cheap prices and huge portions of food, but their coffee is incredible as well.

They offer tons of coffee drinks including flat whites, cold brew, dirty chais, and much more. All of their coffee drinks can be made vegan with soy or almond milk.

4. Ruko Cafe

Ruko Cafe is another great option for beautiful latte art, local organic coffee, and stylish decor.

The coffee shop is located in a great area of Canggu, close to Berawa beach. It’s a great option for a morning coffee before you hit the beach.

Although this post is all about coffee, it’s worth mentioning that Ruko has a great menu of tasty breakfast and brunch options.

5. Rise & Shine Cafe

I visited Rise & Shine on my first morning in Bali and it did not disappoint. The coffee is delicious, prices are reasonable, and the decor is beautiful.

This coffee shop is located in a busy area of Canggu, right next to the popular Copenhagen cafe. It gets pretty crowded, so make sure you come early or be prepared to wait for a table.

The WiFi is pretty strong here, so it’s a great place to grab a coffee and get a little bit of work done.

6. GOWES COFFEE

GOWES is a coffee shop that takes their craft seriously.

They have a large selection of iced and hot coffee drinks on their menu, including specialty drinks like V60 brew, bulletproof coffee, mushroom lattes, affogato, taro lattes, and more.

Vegans will be impressed by the large selection of non-dairy milks on their menu. You can get your drink with almond, coconut, soy, or oat milk.

8. Blacklist Coffee Roasters

Blacklist is an award-winning coffee roastery from Western Australia.

They opened up a coffee shop in Canggu in 2020 that serves incredible coffee, food, and cocktails.

This coffee shop is very centrally located in Canggu, nearby to some of the most popular markets, shops, and restaurants. They have fast WiFi, air conditioning, and a cozy atmosphere.

8. Mustache Coffee

Mustache is a cute little coffee shop on a main road in Canggu. They serve up some of the best flat whites in Canggu and they’re perfect for an early morning takeaway coffee.

At Mustache you’ll find stylish decor, great non-dairy options, and super friendly staff. I visited this coffee shop twice during my stay in Canggu and the coffee was amazing!

One of my favorite things about Mustache is that they open super early.

It can be hard to find coffee shops in Bali that are open early, but Mustache opens their doors at 6am every day.

9. TMO Coffee

TMO is a small coffee shop in Canggu with amazing prices, great coffee, and fast service.

The decor is not as flashy or trendy as other coffee shops in Canggu, but they make up for that with the cheap prices and high quality of coffee and food.

10. Morning Glory Coffee

I popped into Morning Glory coffee for a quick takeaway drink and was pleasantly surprised. They’re fairly new to the Canggu coffee scene, but they definitely deserve a spot on the list!

The decor is cozy, the coffee was very good, and the service was friendly. I didn’t get a chance to try working here, but they appear to have free WiFi and good air conditioning.

11. B11 Coffee

B11 is another newcomer in the Canggu coffee shop scene.

They serve up standard coffee drinks like espresso, lattes, and flat whites, but they also have some fun and exciting coffee options on the menu.

You’ll find bulletproof coffee, coconut coffee, salted caramel lattes, and other inventive coffee drinks at B11.

They also sell bags of beans and bottles of cold brew so you can have B11 coffee at home.
